The game of golf provides an exceptional analogy for operating a successful home care operation:  winners use a team approach grounded in passion, commitment and perseverance.

As in golf, leading providers begin with a fundamental belief that the goal is attainable, despite the challenges that may lie ahead.  They strategically evaluate the course, anticipate the bunkers, plan their approach, and execute flawlessly. They possess an innate drive to achieve the desired result, applying practice, patience and persistence with every stroke.

The game of golf is played by individuals and usually for individual achievement.  However, when remarkable individuals play as a team and work with other remarkable teams of individuals, the game becomes more exciting and rewarding.  At HomeSight we enjoy the game, we have fun, we love what we do, but we never lose sight of the purpose of our work:  restoring hope and function to patients with low vision or blindness.

The HomeSight team salutes our fellow “players” on the home care course – providers, consultants, vendors, and all.  You are “good people,” and it is an honor to share the course and play the game with you.

Lisi Coleman, RN, BSN.

Melicia “Lisi” Coleman is a Registered Nurse, Home Health Agency CEO, and Founder of the revolutionary HomeSight program.  She has worked in the Home Health field for 16 years in various capacities including home health agency administrator and owner, quality and special programs director, staff nurse, case manager and hospice nurse. Lisi has previously received the State Award of Appreciation from the Louisiana Occupational Therapy Association “for her perseverance, vision, and willingness to help others,” and was additionally honored by NurseWeek magazine as a nominee for the Nurse Excellence Award in Innovation and Creativity in recognition for her development of HomeSight.

“Home care is natural to me. As a young girl, I often sat in my mother’s office at the home health agency where she worked and eventually went on to administer. I grew up listening to stories of the elderly and enjoyed frequent visits to the nursing home located only one block from my home. I obtained a first-hand perspective of what caring for the aged looked like. What I saw involved compassion, ingenuity, and a drive to ‘never stop’ until help had been given. As an adult, those traits are a part of what has motivated me as a nurse in health care and in my personal life as a mother of seven. I’m a problem solver; I see potential in everything. At my core, I can’t rest knowing there are needs to be met and answers to find for many in my life: my employees, patients, my clients and even health care as whole. It drives me to think beyond any perceived boundary, to creatively define a new one and then to finish what I start...in everything.”

“HomeSight came out of my relentless pursuit for answers when patients could no longer care for themselves due to their sight loss. And from that pursuit, agencies now have a powerful tool at their fingertips. One that creates patient independence and agency opportunity!
But my pursuit hasn’t stopped there…HomeSight is a part of my vision for LiveAbility. Focused on innovation and strategic concepts in health care, LiveAbility is centered around healthy living and independence while redesigning the Healthcare Universe© to improve the ways in which we manage chronic illness. I endeavor to achieve those goals and with confidence I lead my team of futurists, knowing we can capture and realize the potential we see in this ever changing healthcare environment.”

“My passion is for the future development of healthcare products that create blue ocean opportunities for all service providers.  I enjoy the collaboration of creative minds and executing plans that create healing environments and foster new research and development. I want to help reshape the future of healthcare by focusing on the needs of the patient, the demonstrated skill of the providers, and outcomes that improve the quality of life and the end-of-life; leading to sustained LiveAbility.”

JD Welsh

JD Welsh is a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University with over 10 years of sales and marketing experience in a variety of settings. In 2005, he joined the HomeSight team. From serving in our agencies as a grass-roots marketer to Director of Client services, JD’s skills are extraordinary. He possesses the ability to express the HomeSight value proposition to potential clients, physicians, patients, home care staff and many others all while focusing on the most important element of the HomeSight program: relationships.

“In all of my endeavors I have not found anything as fulfilling as my work with HomeSight.  Ben Hogan was fond of saying ‘the answer is in the dirt!’  HomeSight has given me the opportunity to dig those answers out of the dirt and create a new genre for Home Health Sales and Marketing.  I have never been one for monotony, and seldom, if ever, have I had the same day in my tenure at HomeSight. My mission is to be a ‘Caddie’ for our clients. My role is to help them as they chart their path and navigate through the course; to encourage them when things get rough and to achieve their goals with celebrated success. I am passionate not only about our clients but for the patients they serve as well. I gain tremendous joy in hearing how someone’s life has been impacted by an agency using HomeSight; and through HomeSight, our clients have been given an opportunity to bring light to so many living in a world of darkness and despair.  Ultimately, I desire to see HomeSight become a global healthcare resource and wish to serve those who provide this program with the best of my ability. Someone once said ‘Success comes not only from the talents God gave you but rather how you use them.’ I believe I am right where I should be; using my talents to enhance the well being of others.”

That's my driving force, my inner motivation, my reason for trying harder each day. What could be more important than taking someone’s hand in the darkness and leading them toward the light? This work for me is much more than a career path, it's more spiritual than merely earning a living.”
